Police Brutality Caught on Tape

At any given time at any intersection, freeway or highway you will notice a thick presence of law enforcement. Observing the city throughout the day you would need a computer to keep an account; there are sub-stations throughout the cities in strategic places; surveillance cameras monitor the freeways; and little eyes; big eyes, eyes from the sky record our every move; we go to the gas station, we are giving away information with our bank cards. If we travel out west or out of the country we can be tracked, our neighbors have become watch patrols, we are not relaxed, we cannot freely move, we are very apprehensive in our actions; some of us are enemies of the state; they show it to us in movies. Did you see Soy-lent Green, you must rise above it to see it. Lets hear a rip-roaring, hand clapping cheer for George Orwell's, "Animal Farm" back in the day. Bombs they are falling all around us, the sun is mad it flares at us, the hurricanes they came, stones falling from the sky. Christmas Eve, they caught us eating (some of our troops in Iraq) walked in "BOOM!" all the signs are here, we've better be careful…

We are in a current anarchic stream, we are at this police state, and marshal law is the order of the day. We all live in a gold fish bowl a gold fish bowl a gold fish bowl…

"We now fade to black..."

To bring you these local news reports and commentary from the fires of 1901 (interjecting psychedelic flashes of Axe Handle Saturday 1960) where the black head people are waxing thin with the outlandish ways of city police with its handling of black suspects.

We present an
Underground News Network Report" -slanted always to the side of truth."

Former Jacksonville Sheriff Nat Glover The people have gone to sleep again, as it was just a few moments ago; then first time ever black sheriff Nat Glover called in the FBI to Current Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherfordinvestigate the department after the Sami Safar's murder, this incident alone shows the corruption of JSO, they cannot be trusted, they showed themselves in their criminal capacity; now the next administration calling in the FBI again, it's a waste of time JSO cannot be trusted, two back to back internal investigations; which will only turn up same results, "excessive force was not used."

Sammy Evans, black man killed by a Jacksonville Police Officer The
Folio Weekly reported the family and friends of Sammy Evans held vigil at City Hall, holding hands in a circle in the foyer. After expressing their feelings of loss and grievance of their beloved family member at the hands of what has been reported as a "over zealous rookie," Nelson Cuba, President of the Fraternal Order of Police in Jacksonville, stepped to the podium to speak. Instead of offering his condolences to the family and assuring Council Members and the family that there would be a thorough investigation to the cause of this tragic incident, Mr. Cuba stood firm to the fact that Mr. Evans was resisting arrest. So as far as Mr. Cuba is concerned in this case, Sammy Evans' was the cause of his own tragic death at the hand of a Jacksonville sheriff. This is clearly not a case of "justifiable homicide" since Mr. Evans was not armed with a weapon. It is still not clear whether or not this container of alcohol was open depending on which report you read. So one must then ask them, was this even a justified arrest and more importantly the question being asked by the family and many members of the community is, did he have to die for it? Would a warning have been sufficient in this case?

The Amadou Diallo Case
by all of the top editorial cartoonists

Two days after this tragic incident a young black man dies in a restraint chair in the Duval County Jail here in Jacksonville. According to reports he was arrested for lying across the sidewalk and now he is dead. Would it have been too much for the officer to ask the man to move? Explain to him the laws regarding loitering, sleeping on the street, direct him to a shelter perhaps?? Guess not… and what of this "restraint chair" if it is killing inmates, its been reported in the past others have died in it, should we still be utilizing this method of restraint in our prisons? Do we want to rehabilitate, keep them off the street, or kill them? This appears to be some medieval concoction and we are supposed to be past that state here in America. Wake up people it’s the new millennium.

Houston Copwatch

There are serious crimes committed on a daily basis, 'round the clock; I think the Police Department needs to work on those bigger fish. It is a blatant waste of the taxpayer's money to have the Police Department fighting everything but real crime. Maybe they aren't going after those bigger fish because they themselves are "the bigger fish." As we see from the Sami Safar case these officers had a drug ring in place, surveilled Mr. Safar, robbed, kidnapped and killed him in a POLICE CAR just weeks after robbing his nephew outside of a bank!!! Meanwhile they saying Sammy Evans was resisting arrest, I guess he was!!! You get into the hands of the police and you may be killed just as Mr. Safar; he wasn't having a beer or resisting arrest, he was tending to his daily business.

One citizen complained a child molester was arrested and he got to prison alive, go figure. Sammy Evans lost his life because he wanted to drink a beer, which last time I checked it was legal and Mr. Evans was obviously of legal drinking age. Where do the police draw the line? He was in his own neighborhood, across the street from his home and the neighbors were not complaining. The actions of this officer were totally unacceptable even if Mr. Evans was resisting arrest. The police officer was young, trained in restraint tactics, and armed with a gun; Mr. Evans had a beer. Let's not forget that this particular officer had a complaint in the past for using "excessive force," then two days later he quits.

Police Busters

Police Brutality is no new invention, no new fad or craze. It's been around since "the police" have and we are all well aware of the injustices done to the Black race.

The Amadou Diallo Case by all of the top editorial cartoonists

41 Shots were fired at Amadou Diallo, 19 of those shots actually hit him out of the 41 bullets and here we have the number 1941.

Smoke and Mirrors...
In 1941 Hitler devised a scheme to eliminate the Jews, he appointed Heinrich Himmler as SS Commander...

Heinrich Himmler On October 23, 1941, S.S. head Heinrich Himmler issued an order down the Nazi chain of command which heralded a major change in Nazi policy with respect to the "Jewish problem." Until then, the Nazis worked vigorously to encourage Jews to emigrate. The Madagascar Plan was one example of strategies which were formulated to remove Jews from Germany and its occupied lands. As is described in more detail in Chapter 11, many countries refused to accept Jewish refugees. This shift in policy resulted in the deportation of Jews to camps and ghettos in the East. The policy to "resettle" Jews to these ghettos and camps was a significant step in what was to become the "Final Solution" the systematic murder of millions of Jews.

Mr. Diallo was shot 41 times and all he had was a wallet? I still have not heard any logical reasoning to justify the police shooting anyone 41 times with or without a weapon. All Mr. Diallo wanted was the so-called "American Dream" and he was tragically faced with the harsh reality in his untimely death. A young man with nothing but dreams of success and he tragically lost his life, while offering his identification to assure police he was no criminal while he stood on the steps of his own home. No crimes committed, no beer, no money to steal yet he died at the hands of an apparent "Posse Comiatus..."

Not too much unlike the terrorist cells, hence the term "Fraternal Order of Police" and that is exactly what it is an order, a brotherhood and they do protect their own, as with any order, fraternity, brotherhood etc. We are all aware of secret rituals and initiations that surround groups labeled as such. Don't some involve ritual killings, unusual acts most often of demeaning or sexual nature? We could even call it a gang since their behavior appears to be no different but they are authorized to carry a gun, flash a badge and treat people however they choose, its justified by the so called law, the citizens pay their salaries and remain afraid.

Jacksonville NAACP Leader Claims Police Brutality
Posted on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at 08:43PM by The Spook

Local NAACP President Isaiah Rumlin has his arm in a sling and a sore shoulder, and he says the excessive force of a Jacksonville sheriff's officer is to blame. The civil rights leader says he was a victim of an abusive officer who wouldn't let him check on his insurance business after Thursday's tornado tore through Northwest Jacksonville. His business was located just inside the police perimeter. "He turned me around, slammed me. My face would've went right through this side window," explained Rumlin, pointing out where the alleged incident took place. "All I was doing was trying to get to my office." Rumlin's claims are now being investigated.

Willie Gary is Taking Sammy Evans Case
Black Man Killed while in Police Custody

In the courtroom he's known as the "Giant Killer," and now his office is taking on a high profile case that started with the death of a Jacksonville grandfather. Willie Gary is known on the first coast for hosting his annual Willie Gary Classic. First Coast News has confirmed that Gary's office has agreed to take the Sammy Lee Evans case, though it's not clear yet what kind of legal action Evans's family may seek. The FBI has been called in to investigate what happened to Evans when Jacksonville Sheriff's Deputies took him into custody in Springfield earlier this month. Some community leaders have raised questions of police brutality in connection with Evans's death and the death of a homeless inmate at the Duval County Jail just a few days later. Evans and two other men were stopped for having open containers. After Evans was taken into custody, Sheriff's deputies noticed he was no longer responsive and called for emergency help. Evans died. While autopsy results have not been released, police say Evans died because of a broken neck. A rookie with the JSO who had just been reprimanded for using excessive force while arresting a teenager was also involved in Evans's arrest. That officer, Kaleb Underwood, has since resigned from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Dozens Tell NAACP of Jacksonville Police Using Excessive Force

After two black men charged with minor crimes died in police custody the first weekend of December, the NAACP scheduled a meeting to hear from other members of the community about their treatment by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Thursday night, more than 100 people turned out at Central Baptist Church in Springfield to tell of their encounters with police. Speaker after speaker said there is a pattern of excessive force. "I'm not afraid of criminals, I'm not afraid of anybody with guns. The only people I'm afraid of is JSO," Tony PIttman said. NAACP President Isaiah Rumlin demanded that city officials create a citizens committee to review the use of police force. Ezra Jones, 29, died in police after being restrained at the Duval County Jail shortly after his arrest Dec. 5.Sammy Evans Jr., 49, died after his arrest early for public drinking across from his home Dec. 3. Sammy Evans Jr., 49, died after his arrest early Friday morning on suspicion of public drinking. He had an open container of alcohol across the street from his house. Autopsy results show he had a broken neck. Ezra Jones, 29, died in police custody shortly after being arrested Sunday afternoon. He was described as "combative" and placed in a restraining chair. He died 40 minutes later. The cause of his death has not yet been determined. In addition to an internal investigation, Sheriff John Rutherford asked federal prosecutors to see if there was any criminal wrongdoing in the two men's deaths. The FBI is now investigating. On Monday, state Sen. Tony Hill is scheduled to announce formation of a Jacksonville Deadly Force Review Commission, which will review the deaths in custody of Evans and Jones.

Jax sheriff, cops, city being sued in choke-hold death

JACKSONVILLE (AP) -- The family of a Jacksonville man killed by a police officer's use of a neck restraint has filed suit against the city, three officers and Sheriff Nat Glover.

The suit filed in federal court seeking $75,000 claims the city and the sheriff failed to properly train its officers in the use of the lateral vascular neck restraint which resulted in the death of Lateef Faroque Abdullah.

The officers named are Rusty Rodgers, Lucius Thompson and Kenneth Bowen.

The lawsuit, filed last week, alleges the way the officers used the restraint restricted blood flow to Abdullah's brain, causing it to swell and his heart to stop.

The officers were negligent by failing to determine that Abdullah, 49, didn't pose a threat of violence when they arrived at his mother's house in July 1998 to take him to a psychiatric ward, the suit alleges. As a result, the officers violated his civil rights, the suit claims.

John Jolly, the city's deputy general counsel, and Sheriff Nat Glover both declined comment on the lawsuit.

Abdullah's family hired Los Angeles attorney, Johnnie Cochran to represent them in the suit because of his experience in dealing with neck restraint cases. Cochran is best known for being a member of O.J. Simpson's criminal defense team.

On July 7, 1998, Abdullah's mother called police to her home because her son was acting strangely. When officers arrived, a fight ensued and police used a neck restraint, commonly known as a choke hold, to restrain him.

He passed out and never regained consciousness.

In November, Glover banned the use of the choke hold by officers after a mentally ill man died during a struggle with county jail guards.

Latest update:
Jurors say Jax not liable in woman's death

Morris News Service

JACKSONVILLE -- Jacksonville jurors ruled Wednesday that the city will not be held liable in the death of a woman who was killed during a confrontaton with police and whose family said was mentally ill.

The woman's family had said her civil rights were violated in a wrongful death at the hands of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, which they said used excessive force and didn't properly train officers how to deal with such a person.

Their federal lawsuit was asking for $20 million. The week-and-a-half trial focused on the Jan. 7, 1998, death of 56-year-old Shirley June Ansley. After being called to her work to talk about her being fired as a security guard, Ansley started acting strangely playing a stringless guitar and singing.

Police were called in by a manager to take Ansley away for psychological testing under the Baker Act, which can be used on someone they see as a threat to themselves or others. But there was no indication of any such threats, so the officer tried to give her a trespassing citation. She left in a van and a pursuit ensued.

After ramming into a police car and gunning her engine toward Officer Terry E. Shirley, the officer fired several times killing her in a Baymeadows cul-de-sac.

A firestorm of criticism followed by family, the NAACP, residents and even the law enforcement community itself.

Sheriff Nat Glover also appointed a task force to review how police deal with mentally ill people. The board recommended an expanded mental health curriculum for officers.

Glover, who testified last week that he found the use of deadly force unreasonable, said he planned to fire Shirley after a police use-of-force board found the officer had violated department procedures in the shooting. But Shirley quit the force and recently got hired at the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Shirley did not testify or attend the trial.

Much of the testimony agreed that Shirley's life was threatened, but that the situation may have been handled differently. Much also was discredited about Ansley being mentally ill.

Shirley is going through a 14-week training program to become a patrol deputy with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, and is expected to complete the training by the end of this month.

If Shirley successfully completes the training, he would be on probation for a year.

What can we do to combat this aggressive action of The Fraternal Order of Police, you put out the fire with water the day dispels the darkness, we tell the story the way it is…

"We are not humanistically on the same level as the Caucasian, we are biochemical and electro magnetically superior to them. Therefore, we must examine the inferior Caucasian from the superior African status; it may take some getting used to, but we are the chosen race from the spirit world and the race blessed by the sun. We must take our position of world leadership on this planet or have no planet because the Caucasians will destroy it.

We are in a nutritional combat zone. We must fight for the sake of our children and the motherland. We are in a military situation; the food industry is controlled with military logic, the Caucasians are military, aggressive and violent people. Military people use tactics to seize the advantage in order to dominate and control others or destroy others. We cannot use social science (marching, singing, and voting, money etc) in a military science situation there is no such thing as peaceful coexistence or compromise with military people. It is either victory or defeat. Africans are the only race capable of defeating the Caucasian. However, a junk food diet clouds our vision to see and accept our victory.

"We have got to get the white man out of our stomach"

The African American man makes up a large percentage of the military and police forces; this makes him the most highly armed, technologically skilled and combat trained African soldier in the world. Militarily, he has free access and knowledge of a variety of weapons and tactics to protect and liberate his woman children, family, community, nation and himself, yet he stands in awe and fear of white soldiers with the same training.

The male African singers and rappers record music that popularizes sexual lust instead of marriage and family, this promotes the white racism that is destroying the woman, child and family technology. He is also a victim of a white racism that has mentally destroyed his manhood and given him a slave mentality, ironically, he makes enough money from black exploitation music videos records, sports, acting, commercials, and television to sponsor freedom revolutions in Africa, America and the world."

The servants of the people should by nature be righteous...

They should be priests militarily trained and learned in the philosophical sciences as well social.

Should be single young men living a monasric like life dedicated to serve and protect the people.

The life of the servant of the people should be the example; the life of the servant is role model. As a young man serving in USA armed forces, there was this saying "shit rolls down hill" from this saying we can deduce the cause of the action of the servant, it is because his master has not set a good example...

We must prepare ourselves for what is to be the future as we look back at the past; for the future is written in the past, for the events we witness today paint a picture of what we will see upon the morrow; so let us prepare ourselves for the coming seven days of terror: - for it is written that for the past two years The 'One World Order', powers which be, 'they,' The G-8 etc. has been planning for "Operation Atlantic Blue" this year 2005 an international urban clandestine so-called 'simulated' anti- terror operation will be carried out with the aid of the media, police departments and many other government operatives for seven days, note that 2005=7; dirty bombs and many other weapons and technology of mass destruction will be used to the chagrin of a sleeping populous who will only be aware at the last moment if then; one of the biggest international counter-terrorist exercises ever mounted is to be staged by British, American and Canadian experts early next year.

Thousands of police, servicemen, rescue experts and officials are expected to take part in the transatlantic operation code-named Atlantic Blue and scheduled for late spring.

Officials have told The Times, London that the exercise will last a week and that the scenario is expected to start with mock terrorist attacks in the USA which then spread to Canada and Britain.
